Virginia – Christian Counseling Programs
The mental health climate in our current society demonstrates the ever growing need for sound Biblical mental health counseling. In our post-pandemic world, the need is even greater. Our program is designed to train and equip leaders who are knowledgeable and experienced in the skills necessary to counsel those who suffer beyond the common every day struggles.
As you prepare to serve the hurting, the Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling will equip you with the Biblical worldview necessary to conduct effective Christian Counseling, and will prepare you for the necessary graduate work to counsel in a licensed clinical environment. While this program does not lead to professional licensure, it does build the foundations necessary for those called to counsel. Our faculty bring to the table years of clinical and academic experience in the field of counseling, and are excited to serve you as you embark upon your own counseling journey.

Solid biblical training from accomplished faculty with years of ministry experience.
This program is designed for non-clinical biblical counseling in a church context. It does not provide licensure or counseling certifications. The B.C.C. program does provide a foundation for students who desire to pursue a master’s degree in counseling or other related fields. In addition to the 124 credit hours of academic studies, students are required to fulfill the Leadership in Action requirement.
Outcomes
- Educate (Comprehensive Understanding of Psychological and Theological Integration): Students will have a comprehensive understanding of the integration between psychology and Christian theology.
- Equip (Skills for Practical and Empathetic Engagement): Students will have the necessary skills to foster spiritual, mental, emotional, and relational growth in themselves and others.
- Empower (Preparation for Advanced Studies and Non-Clinical Practice): Students will have a strong foundation for pursuing advanced degrees in counseling or related fields.

The Bachelor of Christian Counseling degree requires 41 courses + Student Orientation (or 124 credit hours), which can be completed in 4 years for full-time students. Courses are offered on-campus or online (can be entirely online). Manna U’s low tuition rates enable students to receive solid biblical training from accomplished faculty with years of ministry experience and not be hindered financially.

Master of Pastoral Counseling
Pastoral Counseling is a specialized form of counseling that integrates psychological understanding with theological insights. Given the rise of mental and emotional stress in today’s society, a program in Pastoral Counseling can equip aspiring ministerial leaders to make a significant impact in their communities, especially when integrated with Manna University’s charismatic distinctives and spiritual goals.

Outcomes
- Educate (Integrated Counseling and Theological Knowledge): Students will have a comprehensive education in both counseling theories and theological principles, with a particular focus on the role of the Holy Spirit in counseling.Development: Enhance students’ relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their understanding of the Holy Spirit’s role in counseling.
- Equip (Counseling Competencies and Social Skills): Students will have graduate-level counseling skills, emphasizing the development of emotional and social intelligence.
- Empower (Ministerial and Community Impact): Students will apply their counseling and theological knowledge in ministerial contexts such as church planting, church development, and chaplaincy.
