Anibal Gomez was faithfully serving in a prison ministry when he sensed a need to upgrade his approach.

The Federal Correctional Institution in Bennettsville, SC, only allowed him to be present in a limited capacity, but the inmates could meet on their own at other times. With his VA Education Benefits, Anibal decided to pursue further training toward a Bachelor of Arts in Divinity degree.

Now, he is not only ministering to Spanish and English speaking inmates when he is with them, he is also encouraging them to study the Bible on their own to minister to others. Through Anibal’s faithful service, the Word of God is bringing light to many in a dark place.

Students like Anibal know the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives. He lives out the Lord’s words in Matthew 25:36.

“…I was in prison and you came to me.”

Anibal regularly attended church for years, and was actively involved in ministry. The biblical training he receives at Manna U has helped him use resources to deepen his teaching and leadership gifts. In his own words, “This place is a light and it helps me show them the light.”
