On the beautiful, bright spring morning of March 27, 2026, Manna University supporters gathered for our sixteenth annual Dr. Steven Crowther Memorial Charity Golf Tournament — a standout example of how university fundraising events bring a donor community together to create real impact. Players, SERVE team, alumni, and campus leaders combined friendly competition with purposeful giving to support scholarships, academic programs, and student leadership opportunities rooted in Christian nonprofit fundraising.
Community and impact
Funds raised through registration, sponsorships, on-course contests, and raffles served to further expand scholarships, underwrite campus academic events, and provide experiential learning opportunities for students pursuing ministry and service. The tournament made clear that campus events do more than raise money — they strengthen relationships that sustain our mission and vision to educate, equip, and empower emerging leaders — Everywhere.
Memorable moments
Highlights included longest-drive and closest to the pin contests, award presentations, and moving quotes and testimonies along the course from students and scholarship recipients whose paths were transformed by donor support. Photos and social posts captured smiling teams, serve team members, and the fellowship that defined the day. Tournament rookie and newcomer—and our resident Art Producer—Stephanie Boegel shared: “So, my first experience as the media team was great, there was great energy from everyone involved the day of, and it flowed smoothly throughout the day. The way we all worked as a team was seamless and if there was anything that needed fixing or correcting, there was someone willing to step in to keep everything flowing.” Our esteemed SERVE Team Captain Katherine Malua went on to say, “The golf tournament was a great success—largely because of our incredible SERVE team. You accepted the challenge and served faithfully and diligently alongside staff, creating an excellent experience for every golfer who came out to support the mission. We’re truly grateful—this would not have been possible without you.”
