Dream On: Manna University and Fayetteville Dream Center Partner for Fourth Annual Dream Run
by Frank Brazell
For me, September evokes feelings of rest. School is in full swing, football season has begun, and the smell of Pumpkin Spice permeates every coffee shop in sight. But two Fayetteville, North Carolina-based nonprofits are busy. Each year, the Fayetteville Dream Center partners with Manna University in a joint effort to raise awareness about the services they offer the community.
Manna University
Manna University is a local, fully-accredited Bible College with roots going back to 1978, when it was known as Manna Christian College. Not exclusive to Fayetteville, Manna University has sites with on-campus classes in Southern Pines, North Carolina and in Louisiana and Hawai’i. Manna U also offers all available degrees completely online, with students across the United States and in five countries. Students at Manna University are equipped to change the world through a curriculum that balances classroom learning with practical ministry and leadership skills. A portion of proceeds from the Dream Run goes to the student scholarship fund, which enables emerging leaders to change the world through their training at Manna U. More information on Manna University is available at manna.edu.
Fayetteville Dream Center
The Fayetteville Dream Center, located in the heart of downtown, serves the city through a variety of avenues. Most noticeable is the service provided to the homeless community of Fayetteville. The Dream Center works to provide for the needs of our local homeless community through a meal every Saturday, church services in partnership with Manna Church, as well as systematized clothing and tent distribution, invaluable during the Winter. Beyond services offered to the homeless community, the Dream Center works to assist needy families through grocery distribution and the Backpack Buddies program. More information on the Fayetteville Dream Center is available through their Facebook page.
Virtual Run
This year, the Dream Run is offering a new and exciting feature for runners outside the Fayetteville area – a Virtual Run! Participants still receive a runner’s bib and race shirt but can run in their location and at their convenience. Those interested in participating in the virtual run can sign up until 11:59PM Eastern Time on 9/21/19, and have until 9/27/19 to complete their virtual run. Click here to register today!
