Joshua S. Teague Memorial Scholarship

Joshua Teague was diagnosed with two (2) non-cancerous brain tumors in November 2007. His life verse quickly became Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT): “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Joshua had a servant’s heart! He would assist anyone in need regardless of any personal inconvenience. He served as the drummer when Manna Hope Mills first opened. He then worked in Children’s Ministry for Manna Anderson Creek and finally was the drummer at Manna Sanford. His goal in high school was to learn to play ALL musical instruments, just like his orchestra leader. He played 1st trombone through high school and attempted to teach himself to play the guitar and keyboard. Drums ended being his musical instrument of choice.

He was enrolled in Manna University in the School of Worship and working part time at Manna when he received his diagnosis. He continued his studies while undergoing radiation for the tumors and completed a Certificate in Worship Leadership in 2011. The struggle to complete his schooling and live a full life was not evident to the casual observer but it was a daily struggle for him. He worked part time at the Fayetteville VAMC from 2009 until 2018. He was able to move into a condo and live independently for seven (7) years. He served as the drummer at Manna Sanford from 2016 until his death in 2019. Thank You God that You fulfilled Your promise of plans for a good life!

His love for the Lord was visible in his daily life. He died from complications of the brain tumors in March 2019. This scholarship was established in 2020 to benefit any student undergoing personal or medical struggles. If awarded, scholarship funds are disbursed in amounts up to $250 per semester as determined by the Manna University Scholarship Committee.
