The CARES Act allows the U.S. Department of Education to provide higher education institutions with emergency financial aid grants to help students cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus. This is known as the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund – Student Aid (or HEERF- Student Aid).
The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) is authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP), Public Law 117-2, signed into law on March 11, 2021, providing funds in support to institutions of higher education to serve students and ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. Details can be found on this webpage > https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/arp.html
