Student Spotlight: Rachel Shinnick

INTRODUCTION:

Meet our student spotlight for this week. Her name is Rachel Shinnick, she is a freshman attending Manna U to obtain her Certificate in Christian Leadership while being an intern at Manna Church. Here are photos that she posted when she did the Instagram takeover. Instagram: gcdivinity.

Student Ministries Intern

Dear people, I thought I would introduce myself as you are going to have to put up with me for the rest of the day:). My name is Rachel Shinnick. I am 19 years and six days old, am an intern at Manna, and love few things more than just curling up with a good book. -This picture was taken as our team of interns hiked up to minister in Honduras.

Bible College Professor

You may know him as the guy who preaches on stage, but I just know him as my uncle… And as of last semester, he took on a new title: Professor. So fun to get to sit under him as he taught Destiny and Calling.

Internship Trip to Honduras

This was one of my favorite parts about the trip to Honduras. We got to help build the first church in that area. In the rain. And I got to use a shovel. #wewerebeasts #rainneverhurtanyone

Mentoring

Throwback to the intern’s first pillar dinner. These are times where we go and sit under a couple who are “pillars” in the church. What was so neat about this one is that it was with the Chois, who are also my host family this year. They welcomed me into their home with open arms and adopted me as their daughter. My success so far this year has been greatly due to Papa Choi’s prayers, Mama Choi’s motherly care (which she somehow always knows exactly when I need), and my siblings keeping me laughing and always on my toes (you just never know when you might be ‘kidnapped’.)

Because the best way to end with a bang is to end with these guys. Introducing intern craziness. This is posted for no other reason than I love my intern family.
